Preppers Paradise

Growing and Animal Operations

We have several growing and animal operations on the property.
First of all, we have a large, fenced garden with several rock lined raised beds.  Established plants include rhubarb, asparagus, raspberries, strawberries and horseradish.  In addition, there is another fenced raised bed area where Egyptian onions, comfrey, tarragon, peppermint, oregano, Jerusalem artichokes are established.  There is also a fenced orchard with 3 apple trees, a plum tree, pie cherry tree, new grapes and more rhubarb.  The soil on this property is excellent and we have had many successful harvests.
In addition, there is a custom built green house where you can get an early jump on seedlings, grow more vegetables, and in a pinch...raise some young chicks!

In addition to being able to grow your own food, we have also
developed several animal operations.  Several barns, coops and fenced pastures have been constructed.  Some of these animals may be included in the sale of this property.

Our pride and joy are our beautiful pure-bred Icelandic sheep.  At this time, we also have some purebred Shetland sheep and a Black Belly Barbados ram.  These awesome animals are housed in the cordwood constructed "Sheep Chalet".
Built as an addition to the Sheep Chalet, is our very own hand-hewed log "Web-Site", where we have raised Muscovey and Khaki Campbell ducks.  The ducks front door leads to a pond.  Muscovey ducks are mostly meat ducks, but the mothers are excellent "brooders".  Khaki Campbells are known for being great egg layers.
Speaking of egg layers, we have hatched and raised several batches of chickens, which are either housed in the portable chicken coop or chicken house.  The chicken house has a large fenced and covered yard.
One other poultry operation includes the turkey "townhouse", and yes, we have raised turkeys, as well as having another place to raise more chickens or ducks.

We recently acquired a pure bred Dexter cow, who is due to calf in early September.  She has her own barn, corral, and fenced pasture.
To wrap up our animal operations, we are currently raising Kiko and Kiko/Boer meat goats.  These wonderful animals have their own housing and small fenced area.  In the past, we raised Nubian goats, which further illustrated the diversity of animals one is able to successfully raise on this piece of property.
